November vibes. I always love reviewing the past month but DAMN it’s easy to just slide right in to the next month.

What if we start to really pay attention to the roughly 30 days each month, scroll through all the photos we took and like, honor them? Remember the amazing days that seemed too short. The long days that surely taught us something. The hugs, the laughter, the solemn words, the weather, the friends, the songs, the atmosphere. Life goes so fucking fast…

A workshop that moves with you, based on the project at hand, is truly the gift that keeps on giving.⁠

I mean check out these details! We designed this shop space when a combination of adjustable shelves come to mind, in a way that felt very modern but that had been a tried & true library detail for centuries. ⁠
⁠
I then layered the adjustable shelf idea with a kitchen we'd designed during Covid, so never did photograph...but it was a full kitchen constructed of apply-ply with the layered end grain showing. This is my reincarnation of that design concept but for a much different space. Every nook and cranny is considered. ⁠

It feels modern but familiar. It feels bad-ass and still warm; I mean the best bad-ass things are, am I right? ⁠

To know for certain this room is used and abused is nothing short of awesome. ⁠

Fall on the Pacific Northwest Coast:🍁🌊🏔️ I find myself daydreaming about a particular aesthetic and going down a path of, what can only be described as: immersive obsession. ☺️ What would the home I’m in look like, imagine the details, what would I be drinking, wearing, eating, etc. What would I be listening to (kinda @maggierogers always?)?

So, welcome to my home on the coast of Washington. Come in, pour a whiskey neat or add some ginger, wrap up in a vintage blanket, and enjoy someone else cooking for you. I mean I don’t cook, but I know people.

This vibe is pure comfort, a warm & cool balance, and a mix of humble textures and luxury goods.

Our Whidbey project started me on this path but I can imagine a home in Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor embracing these details and luxurious but humble aesthetic.
