This creative project combines modern mountain architecture with natural materials and a nod to the Clients homecountry of South Africa. We deisgned spaces with bold contrast against the rugged stone walls, details that speak to a wildness of the African landscape, and playful use of color to add a little whimsy. The interior furnishings are durable for family life with details that make the most important pieces conversation starters. In the outdoor living space, large stone walls and exposed beams create a cozy, rustic setting. Woven furniture and sculptural tables sit around a central fireplace, surrounded by natural views that blend the interior with the serene forested surroundings. It’s a perfect balance of comfort and design in a mountain retreat.
