Life Style: Al Fresco (May 2020)

I don’t think that I’m alone in saying that when May rolled around, we all thought we’d be able to hang out with one another again, gathering and enjoying each other’s company, as well as the beautiful spring weather. Wishful thinking, I suppose.

We may still be beholden to countrywide stay-at-home and shelter-in-place orders, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still daydream and prepare for al fresco hangouts.

And we’re not just talking about backyard barbecues, but instead, we’re looking forward to thoughtful ways of saying “I missed you” — an outdoor party, a candlelit dinner on the patio, a casual yet polished way to welcome everyone back into the world.

Here’s your alfresco inspiration to get your home (and your wardrobe) ready for guests…

While it may seem a bit ironic that we’re browsing al fresco inspiration, considering the state of things, it’s actually intended to be symbolic — while we may physically be restricted in terms of gathering, we still have an opportunity to enjoy the spaces around us, whether it’s hosting intimate events with those at home with us now or getting dressed for a virtual brunch with your loved ones.

The habits we develop now, especially when it comes to our homes & entertaining, will make going al fresco in real life that much more amazing…when the time comes.
